COVID-19: Salisbury District Hospital deaths up to 41

Two further patients have died after testing positive for coronavirus.

The Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust has confirmed that the number of patients to have passed away at the hospital is now at 41

A spokesperson said: 

"Sadly a total of 41 patients who had tested positive for COVID-19 have died at Salisbury District Hospital.

A women in her eighties, with pre-existing health conditions, died on 23rd April.

A women in her nineties, with pre-existing health conditions, died on 9th April.

Our thoughts and condolences are with the patients’ families  and loved ones at this difficult time."

The April 9th death announcement was delayed due to a data error

NATIONAL FIGURES

NHS England say a further 587 people have died in hospitals in the country after testing positive for the virus. 

That brings the total to 17,373.

The full UK figure will be posted later today.
