COVID 19: Further death at Salisbury District Hospital

The number of people that have died after testing positive for the virus has risen to 48.

Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust has confirmed another patient with Covid-19 died.

"A man in his 80s ,who had underlying health conditions, sadly passed away on the 30th April."

"Our thoughts and condolences are with his family and loved ones at this difficult time."


The number of people who have died with Covid-19 in the UK's hospitals, care homes and wider community has increased by 621..

It brings the total figure to 28,131,


NHS England are asking us not to be tempted to visit family this weekend and to continue to stick with the social distancing measure in place.


The number of confirmed cases as of 9.51am today (2nd May) in Wiltshire stands at 801.

This is made up as follows,

  • Wiltshire Council area 436
  • Swindon Borough Council 367

The number of confirmed case in Hampshire now stands at 3,661.

Those figures are made up as follows,

  • Hampshire County Council 2,781
  • Southampton City Council 473
  • Portsmouth City Council 285
  • Isle of Wight Council  122

The number of cases reported for each Upper Tier Local Authority may fluctuate as the figures are revised by Public Health England.

They may be changed due to multiple tests being carried out for one person being listed separately, for instance.

The figures include patients who are currently unwell, those who have recovered and those who have died – but does not include people who may have Covid-19 but haven’t been tested.
