Arrest after police chase through Salisbury and Amesbury

A highly trained specialist officer eventually stopped the vehicle.

Wiltshire Police say the driver took "increasing risks" and the vehicle was stopped by tactical contact on Stonehenge Road in Amesbury.

Nobody was hurt in the incident on Saturday night (2nd May).


A 32-year-old man from Dorset was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop for police, dangerous driving and driving while over the limit of a specified controlled drug.

He has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.


The incident on Saturday evening was the second involving a police pursuit.

Earlier in the day a Landrover Discovery was pursued across several villages south of Salisbury before it was eventually stopped in Amesbury 

Two people were arrested with one later charged.
