Michael Beck, also known as Wally Wheelbarrow, has been unable to do his usual bucket collection at Salisbury District Hospital.

So a Just Giving page has been set up so Michael can try and reach his collection target of £500,000 by the time he turns 90.

In April, he became very unwell and spent two weeks in hospital but he is now recovering at home.

He has been told he needs to stay there for three months.

Due to this, and the current restrictions around travelling, Michael and his wheelbarrow have not been able to collect any money for the Stars Appeal charity.

Michael has raised £423,000 in 17 years for the charity

The 87 year-old has already raised £423,000 in the 17 years he's been collecting and has just over 2 years to hit his milestone.

Michael said:

"I get a lot of satisfaction out of it and I think when I get to £500,000 I will carry on and see if I can raise any more and make it £750,000, all you got to look at is Captain Tom Moore, anything can happen.

I've made so many friends and met some lovely people throughout the 17 years I have been doing this and I'm hoping it won't be long until I'm back at the hospital with Wally and fundraising for this great charity."
