Downton Abbey star pays tribute to Salisbury's NHS heroes

Hugh Bonneville has shown his support for hospital workers in the city, by recording a video message.

The actor has thanked the staff at Salisbury District Hospital for their hard work during this difficult time.

Hugh is best known for his roles as the Earl of Grantham in Downton Abbey and Henry Brown in the Paddington films.

A number of celebrities have been showing their support for the Stars Appeal in recent weeks, including film director Guy Ritchie, former racing driver Tiff Needell and Oscar winning actress Olivia Colman

The Stars Appeal is currently raising money for a coronavirus fund, to provide treats for staff at Salisbury District Hospital who are working so hard during the Covid-19 crisis, and make patient stays as comfortable as possible. 

The fund has already raised over £70,000, with the money being put to good use:
