Residents around the Old Hospital Road area were asked to keep their windows closed while the incident was being dealt with.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue were called out at around 5.50am this morning (Monday 18th May).

A falling tree landed close to a propane tank on Old Hospital Road, fracturring the tank itself.

The gas leak that followed meant that firefighters closed roads around the area and asked residents in Wheeler Close and Bailey Close to close their windows for safety reasons.

The propane tank leak happened in the Old Hospital Road area early this morning

The area of Pewsey affected by the incident also included a care home, and we've been told that firefighters checked over the site to make sure everyone is OK.

A heavy rescue unit was called in to help lift the tree up while gas engineers could work to fix the leaking tank safely.

A tree surgeon is now on site to remove the trunk.

All the road have now re-opened:
