FirsFest was supposed to be taking place on the 31st of July and the 1st of August 2020.

Organisers say they have made the "difficult decision" to cancel 2020s FirsFest music festival.

This years event was going to be it's 15th anniversary, with 30 bands from across the region set to perform, for free.

The festival, held in the village of Firsdown, aims to raise money for Salisbury District Hospital's Stars Appeal and is entirely staffed by volunteers.

A spokesperson said:

"We are sorry to announce that FirsFest 2020 is cancelled. This has been a difficult decision but in the light of the pandemic it would be irresponsible to go ahead with what would have been our 15th festival.

Your wellbeing and that of our amazing crew, invaluable volunteers, artists and the local community are paramount and we thank you all for your unstinting support.

Music, friendship and the great outdoors are going to be more important to us all than ever before as we rebuild our health and communities over the coming months."

They say that all their effort into making sure next year's event goes ahead at the end of July.
