Officers from Amesbury Police stopped a vehicle this morning (Wednesday 27th May) after it was seen driving on A303 at a very low speed.

When the car was pulled over, checks done by officers showed that the driver is currently disqualified, the vehicle was uninsured, the MOT was expired, there were 2 defective brake lights and he was not wearing a seatbelt

He was then required to provide a specimen of saliva for analysis, which he failed for cannabis

The man was then arrested for all of those offences and was taken to Melksham custody for further questioning.

PC Scott, said:

"This was a good result off the back of a proactive stop. Had the vehicle not been travelling at such low speeds, it may have not attracted our attention. The driver clearly had no regard for anyone else’s safety when he chose to get behind the wheel today."
