In March, people living in the county were given the option to delay paying it for a couple of months to help ease any financial pressure during Covid-19.

5,800 households took up the option, which meant they didn't have to hand over council tax money during April and May.

Those that did defer are now being reminded that payments resume this month.

Cllr Philip Whitehead, Leader of Wiltshire Council, said:

"This has obviously been a tough time for many people but we hope now that more are getting back to work things are getting a little easier.

We don’t want people to suffer in silence though, and if anyone is still struggling to pay council tax I’d urge they get in touch with us so we can discuss this further."

Anyone that is still struggling to pay at the present time should contact Wiltshire Council on 0300 456 0109 or email counciltax@wiltshire.gov.uk to talk about their options.

Otherwise you should pay in accordance with the various payment methods shown on your bill.

Some Wiltshire residents are going to benefit from council tax reductions.

11,000 people qualify for additional support, which will see them receive a £150 decrease on their council tax.

Anyone this does apply to will have received a new bill confirming the drop.
