Aneta and Nikoleta Zdun died following an incident in Wessex Road earlier this month - their family's thanked emergency services and neighbours for their support.

A statement, released through Wiltshire Police, has also paid tribute to the local community who were 'directly or indirectly involved in this tragic incident'.

The family has said:

"We'd like to thank, with all our hearts, the ambulance service, the police and all the neighbours and bystanders who helped try and save the lives of our daughter Aneta and our granddaughter Nikoleta.

"Also, thank you to everyone who took care of our young granddaughters after this event, including those working for social services, as well as all the people of good heart for their on-going help and support in these difficult times.

"Let God bless you.  You will remain in our hearts forever."

The family's two other daughters, aged 5 and 6, are understood to have been in the house at the time of the tragedy, and local people have rallied round to support them.

The statement released today gives us an update on how they're doing:

"We would like to reassure everyone that our young granddaughters are safe and well and being cared for by our family.

"We thank everyone for the money raised through Facebook.  Thank you to those responsible for organising this and to those who have donated.

"We plan for our young granddaughters to come and live with us in Poland and we would like to be able to use this money to pay for extra tuition and to help both girls settle into new schools in due course.  They already speak Polish but may need some help to catch up with other children of their age and this money will help them so much."
