The city's bus operator wants to hear from us about how our journeys have been affected by social distancing measures on board.

Salisbury Reds is asking for our feedback on the ways services are coping with the changes, and if there are any particular issues that passengers feel need addressing.

The number of buses running on routes has been increasing in recent weeks, as the Government's advice starts to change.

That's led to the number of passengers rising across the Salisbury Reds network.

General Manager Alex Chutter explains that at times, there might be restrictions on how many customers they're able to take:

"Our customers will notice the social distancing measures we have introduced. These inevitably reduce our capacity, which means less people can use each bus.

"Salisbury Reds drivers have a special ticketing counter, which tells them how many people are on-board at any one time - and this is fed back to our website, so people can see how busy each bus is.

"When a bus is at its new capacity level, we can't accept any more passengers and the destination blind will show 'bus full'. We are doing all we can to minimise any resulting disruption by running duplicate buses or increasing services still further where we can."

Alex also says Salisbury Reds want to hear what those people using services think about the way it's currently working:

"In tandem with our ticketing counter, which tells us how busy a journey is at any given time, we are asking our customers to contact us if they themselves have had difficulty making a specific essential journey, due to the bus being full.

"Anyone who has experienced difficulties with essential travel can contact us via the form on our website which captures all the details we require. We are constantly monitoring our services, and this information will play a key role in helping us improve our offering still further over the coming weeks.  We doing our very best to minimise any disruption to our loyal customers."

You can get in touch with the bus operator via their Facebook page, Twitter feed and through the Salisbury Reds website.
