COVID-19: Nine more deaths in Wiltshire care homes

The latest figures have been released by the Office for National Statistics.

The data  published today shows the breakdown of coronavirus deaths by local authority up until the 12th of June..

The latest weekly stats show a further 9 people have died with Covid-19 in the Wiltshire Council area, bringing the total to 196, 

For the second week in a row no further deaths were recorded in Swindon Borough so the figure remains at 69

It means the total for Wiltshire as a county now stands at 265

Across the county 20 people have died in their home and three people have passed away in hospices with the virus.

No locations of care homes or hospices have been released.


In Hampshire the total number of people that have died in care homes with Covid-19 in the nearest local authorities are. 

  • New Forest District - 64
  • Test Valley Borough Council -64


Meanwhile the figures show the number of people dying with Covid-19 in England and Wales has fallen to the lowest weekly level since lockdown began.

Of the deaths registered in the seven days until 12th June  1,114 mentioned Covid-19.

For the first time since lockdown, there was no increase in deaths in any age group.
