We'll be able to visit the New Canal screens within the next few weeks.

Odeon has revealed details of when their cinemas will start to welcome customers again - following the Prime Minister's announcement earlier this week that they'll be allowed to.

Salisbury's venue will start showing films again from Monday 13th July.

Manager Lewis Turner said:

"We are delighted to announce this ODEON will reopen its doors from 13th July, and you can book tickets now. We have made lots of changes to create a new safer cinema experience for you, and we look forward to welcoming you back."

WHAT FILMS WILL BE SHOWN?

The first week of showings will include some of the movies that were released just before lockdown began, like Disney Pixar's Onward and comic book adaptation Bloodshot.

But there'll also be a chance to see some classic films back on the big screen, while there aren't any new ones being distributed.

Some of the movies being show in Salisbury include modern blockbusters like 1917, Bohemian Rhapsody and The Greatest Showman, as well as older titles like Dirty Dancing and Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back.

SOCIAL DISTANCING MEASURES IN PLACE

The number of tickets available for each screening will be reduced to allow for customers to keep apart, as well as staggered show times, to prevent crowding.

Any snacks bought on site will be pre-packaged, with only contactless payments allowed.

Cinema staff will also wear PPE and will step up cleaning regimes throughout too.
