The pair were involved in an incident at Alabare Place in Barnard Street yesterday afternoon (Wednesday 24th June).

Police were called out at around 1.30pm to reports of a 'disorder' between two men.

Both of them had been injured and were taken to Salisbury District Hospital for treatment.

The men, aged in their 20s and 30s, were then both arrested on suspicion of GBH and taken into custody at Melksham following their treatment.

They are still being held this morning.

ASSAULT IS AN 'ISOLATED INCIDENT'

Salisbury Inspector Pete Sparrow said:

"I'd like to reassure residents that while news of this incident will no doubt be concerning, this was an isolated incident between two individuals who are known to each other and there is no wider risk to the public."

Police are asking any witnesses to what happened to come forward, if they haven't been spoken to already.
