An incredible patchwork quilt featuring the autographs of famous faces is going up for auction to raise money for a Salisbury charity.

65 people, ranging from singers, actors, politicians and sportspeople along with former armed forces personnel, are featured on the 'We'll Meet Again' quilt.

It's been donated by veteran Dennis Grimes, who came up with the idea of stitching in the signatures of celebrities.

Famous faces like actor Sir Roger Moore, newsreader Angela Rippon, Olympic athlete Dame Kelly Holmes and actor Simon Pegg are among those on the quilt

The quilt itself was made by the London Quilt Makers and is now being auctioned off in support of Alabare, towards their work with homeless and vulnerable veterans in the South West and Wales.

There's everyone from Richard E Grant and Joanna Lumley from the entertainment world, to ex-politicians like Edwina Currie and Nick Clegg, and sports stars like Michael Vaughan and Lester Piggot.

But probably the most poignant autograph is that of Dame Vera Lynn, who passed away earlier this month, aged 103:

Sir Ranulph Fiennes, whose signature is also included on the quilt said;

"I signed this quilt because I strongly believe we should do all we can to stop our brave Veterans becoming homeless. I hope this quilt, with all the great names on it, really raises a lot of money for the brave men and women of our Armed Forces."

The quilt's now being auctioned off online, with bidding starting at £550.

The closing date for that sale is Friday 10th July, which is also the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

You can find out more about the auction on the Charity Stars website.
