Since the beginning of lockdown the Hampshire-based children's hospice has been running special charity 'concerts' via Facebook as a new way of raising much needed funds.

They've worked with local musicians, who have streamed live gigs each night, asking viewers to make donations to the charity.

More than £11,000 has now been raised through what's being called the 'Naomi & Jack's Sessions'.

TOUGH TIMES

Due to the coronavirus outbreak, the charity had to suspend planned respite, however they have now started to provide funded emergency respite to children and families from across the south.

The charity also had to put a halt to its fundraising efforts.

Charity shops were closed, charity events cancelled, and there was a reduction of corporate/community fundraising, so Naomi House & Jacksplace had to come up with new creative ideas to continue raising vital funds and awareness, which is how they started the virtual concerts.

Emma Huskins, Digital Marketing Executive for Naomi House & Jacksplace, said:

"I am absolutely over the moon that we have been able to raise a staggering £11,000 from this series of virtual charity gigs.

Not only have we been able to raise these incredibly important funds, which will allow our hospices to continue to be there for local families that need it most, we've also raised significant awareness of our charity to audiences which we might not have otherwise been able to reach."

Naomi House needs to raise £9.2 million each year in order to run a full service and deliver future plans.

If you would like to donate you can still do so via the Naomi House donation page.

And, the charity are still wanting to run more virtual gigs and are looking for musicians to take part.

You can get in contact through their Facebook page.
