More than 80 bikes and scooters were marked and registered at the event on Saturday (27th June).

The free event run by Wiltshire Police aimed to help reduce the number of bikes stolen.

In a post on social media local officers said they were overwhelmed with the turnout and have apologised for not being able to get to everyone!

"Thank you so much everybody who came to The Centenary Pavilion  to have their bikes marked for the Bike Register. It was a really successful event with over 80 bikes and scooters being marked and registered. We really underestimated how many of you would get involved with this; it certainly kept us all busy!

Don't forget: just because it's coded your bike will still need keeping safe and you will still need to keep it secure when you're not with it!"

"We are sorry to those who we didn't get to, but keep an eye out for more events like this!"

Children were among those taking advantage of the free bike marking scheme.
