The annual event is unable to return for the 32nd time this year, but organisers say plans for 2021 have already begun.

The Rockbourne Fair, held at Salisbury Racecourse, has been cancelled due to Covid-19.

The event, which happens in October gives people a chance to do a bit of early Christmas shopping, with last year hosting 120 different stalls

It is also a big fundraiser for the Stars Appeal, with £53,000 donated in 2019.

Bev Moulding, the chair of the organising committee, said:

"It is with great sadness that we’ve had to cancel - like so many other events this year. However, we believe as a committee that it would be irresponsible to go ahead with the Fair at this time. We will be back next year, stronger and better than ever and are already planning some exciting new stalls and ideas for Rockbourne Fair 2021."

This year was set to be the 32nd edition of the fair, after it started at someone's home in the village of Rockbourne in 1988.

Organisers say they aim to build on last year's success for 2021 which returns to Salisbury Racecourse on Wednesday 13th - Friday 15th October
