Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, they are seeing a resurgence in popularity.

From Saturday (4th July) you'll be able to enjoy a bit of socially distanced entertainment as a drive in movie is set up at the livestock market on Netherhampton Road.

It'll operate for a month showing a number of different films over the coming weeks.

Classics like Grease, Dirty Dancing and Jurassic Park are among those on offer.

The first one is Mamma Mia starting at 10pm on Saturday.

The cinema will be held at the Southern Counties Auctioneers on Netherhampton Road

Sven Schmidt, Drive-In Cinema Company Director, said:

"We are delighted to be bringing our Drive-In cinema to Salisbury residents. We have hosted events in the UK for over 15 years and were devastated to have to cancel this summer’s plans. With the Government restrictions now allowing drive-in cinemas to open, we cannot wait to bring some fun and entertainment to our customers."

Anyone attending will also be able to buy snacks like popcorn, hotdogs and nachos at the venue.
