The coffee chain says it's been struggling during the coronavirus lockdown.

Pret A Manger said it had faced "significant operating losses" following the outbreak of COVID-19

The company has already reopened 339 out of its 410 UK shops including the one in Salisbury but says there's been a "severe decline in sales"

Footfall remains down and sales were 74% lower when compared to the same point last year.

It is understood that at least 1,000 jobs are at risk from the closures, which will take place before the end of this year.

The chain hasn't confirmed which stores will close.

Coffee fans will be hoping Salisbury's Pret remains.

Pret will also reduce the number of workers in its other shops, support teams will be restructured, and a sale process will be started for the lease of its main support office in London Victoria.

Salisbury has already lost one national coffee chain, Starbucks, from the city centre.
