The authority want to remind people that there are testing sites across the county.

People living in Wiltshire are being encouraged to get tested for coronavirus as soon as they develop any symptoms.

There is concern from the two Directors of Public Health Wiltshire that people are using a 'wait and see' approach if they feel ill.

Wiltshire Council want to remind people that there are regional testing facilities in the county, including one at the Beehive park and ride site in Old Sarum, Salisbury.

They are open seven days a week and you can book a slot by going to www.nhs.uk/ask-for-a-coronavirus-test.

Anyone experiencing any of the following symptoms should get tested:

  • New, continuous cough
  • High temperature
  • Loss or change in normal sense of smell
  • Loss or change in normal sense of taste

You can book online for yourself or someone you live with, if either have symptoms.

Kate Blackburn, Director of Public Health for Wiltshire, said:

"If you start experiencing any of the symptoms of COVID-19, I would urge you self-isolate and book an appointment at your nearest testing site. The test is quick and easy to do, and you receive your results quicker than if you wait for a test to be posted to you."

Test results come back within a couple of days.

While the process for home testing kits can take longer between asking for a test and knowing the outcome.
