Pair charged after Downton catapult incident

Police arrested two people on Sunday (12th July) after windows were smashed at two homes the day before.

The 13 year-old boy and 55 year-old man have now been charged. 

The boy, who is from Salisbury, has been charged with criminal damage and has been released on conditional bail. 

He cannot be named for legal reasons.

Meanwhile, Gary Cooper, from Odstock Road in Salisbury, has been charged with aiding and abetting criminal damage.

He also was released on conditional bail. 

A vehicle was seen at night in the Roman Meadow area of Downton on Saturday, pulling up next to two properties. 

Ball bearings were fired at the homes, smashing some windows. 

Police were able to recover catapults and ball bearings

No one inside the addresses was hurt.
