The clothing and homeware store is welcoming its first customers back today.

The company has been operating a phased reopening of its 128 stores since June 15th when lockdown measures for non-essential retailers lifted.

Salisbury's store opened for the first time at 10am.

As with other retailers the company has introduced a range of safeguarding measures.

CEO Nick Jones said the continued safety of customers and colleagues has been a "top priority".

"We have been carefully planning how best to welcome back and serve our customers whilst following government guidelines and ensuring the safety of our colleagues.

"With that in mind, like many others we will be introducing a range of new safeguarding measures, including managing staffing levels to allow for social distancing, limiting the number of customers in store at any one time, introducing Perspex screens at points of sale, providing PPE for our employees and enhancing hygiene with the provision of hand sanitiser for customers as they enter stores."

Salisbury's branch at New Canal will operate reduced opening hours from 10am to 5pm every day.

The Joules store in Ringwood is also reopening today with the same opening hours.
