We're being warned that large, slow-moving convoys will be making their way through our region today and tomorrow (29th and 30th July).

Wiltshire Police is asking drivers to be aware of the loads that will be travelling through, and that it might cause some delays.

WHERE WILL BE AFFECTED?

The first load will arrive on Wiltshire on the A303 at Parkhouse junction at around 2.00pm today (Wednesday 29th July).

It'll go along the A303 to Countess Roundabout before turning right to head north on the A345 to Larkhill.

The convoy is of two modular buildings that are 4.4 metres wide each.

Another convoy's due to pass through our area on Thursday (30th July) too, again arriving it Wiltshire on the A303 at Parkhouse at around 10.00am.

This one will travel along the A303 to Codford and then use the A36 to Warminster.

A swimming pool structure is being moved that measure 4.6 metres wide.

WHAT WILL THAT MEAN FOR DRIVERS?

Wiltshire Police say the loads may mean oncoming traffic could have to pull in let them pass.

We're asked to be patient as the convoys will be slow-moving and any time critical journeys should allow for disruption.

They'll be escorted by police at all times, which will be provided by officers, paid for by the haulier at no cost to the public.
