The legend's 1978 instrument is due to come under the hammer at Gardiner Houlgate auctions on March 8th 2018.

One of Eric Clapton's old guitars is going up for auction in Wiltshire next month, and it could fetch £10,000.

It's being sold by a private collector along with 300 other guitars.

It'll come under the hammer at Gardiner Houlgate auctions at Corsham in Wiltshire on March 8th 2018.

The 1978 instrument, a Guild D-55NT acoustic guitar, was made in the USA.

Clapton had the guitar from 1978 and only decided to part with it 1999 at a charity auction in New York. He sold it to raise money for his Crossroads drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre which Clapton co-founded in 1998.
