First of 16 meetings at our local track sees one of the UK's oldest staged races.

Salisbury Racecourse kicks of its 2017 flat season with the ever popular "Betfred City Bowl Family Day."

There are eight races on the cards including the “City Bowl” one of the oldest races staged anywhere in the UK.

Six runners contend the big race of the day which is staged over 1 mile and six furlongs. Local trainer Richard Hannon saddles Paris Protocol with top jockey Ryan Moore booked for the ride.

Going at the Netherhampton track is firm, good to firm in places.

Gates open at midday with the first race at 2pm.

Accompanied children aged 17 or under once again get in to the track for FREE.
