Thanks to three goals against AFC Totton, Salisbury FC are now back up to second spot in the league.

The Whites were victorious in their 'local derby' yesterday, securing their second win over AFC Totton this season.

That win has put Salisbury FC back into that coveted second spot in the league, guaranteeing them automatic promotion if they stick there.

591 people saw the Whites storm to a 3-1 win over the Stags, with three different scorers.

It didn't take long for Salisbury to get started away from home, taking just seven minutes to get their first goal.

A Lewis Benson corner saw Stuart Green back-heel the ball past the keeper to give the Whites their lead.

It didn't look like they'd stay on top for long after Totton were awarded a penalty for a shirt pull in the box but the Stags Craig Feeney misdirected the ball and Charlie Searle picked it up easily.

Salisbury added to Tottons misery just a few minutes later, seeing Benson steer home their second goal of the first half.

Twelve minutes into the second half and it was the Whites with the goal again, Jake Wannell got his first for the club with a volley straight into the back of the net.

The home side took until two minutes of added time had gone to get one in the net, but the consolation goal did nothing to Salisburys victory and the Whites took the three points.

With a game in hand over Wimborne Town, their next opponents, Salisbury look set to go into the New Year in the promotion spot that is second place.
