It was a busy day of fixtures yesterday (Sat Jan 14th) with some controversial refereeing in a couple of games.

Salisbury FC picked up another useful win yesterday (Saturday January 13th) to strengthen their hold on a promotion place in the Southern League Division One West.

The Whites were up against North Leigh at the Ray Mac, with 619 supporters going along for the game on a chilly afternoon.

Steve Claridge's side took the lead very early on:

Stuart Green made certain of the win on 92 mins to end it 2-0 to Salisbury.

The club tweeted their reaction to the game afterwards:

Next up for the Whites is a trip to Larkhall Athletic on Saturday (January 20th).

A good day for our sides in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division - with both of them getting victories.

Bemerton Heath Harlequins got a 1-0 win over Portland United away from home:

That result moves Harlequins up into 13th place in the table.

For Amesbury Town, a 3-2 scoreline against Fareham Town is a vital win, as they sit second from bottom in the league standings:

In Division One, Downton lost their game against Alton 3-0 at home.

In couple of our local games, there were issues with the people officiating the matches.

For Laverstock and Ford, it came from a 1-1 draw with Folland Sports on the road - the club tweeted that it was a difficult game:

And in the rugby, Salisbury had a tough day at the office, going down to Oxford Harlequins away from home.

That result pushes the green and whites down to 6th in the South West League 1 East, but a tweet following the match alluded to refereeing problems in that match too:
