Salisbury FC Honorary VP dies, aged 86

Derek Sharp had been involved with the Whites, in many roles, over the last six decades.

The Football Club has said they're 'saddened' to hear of the death of lifelong supporter Derek.

He first got involved with Salisbury FC in an official capacity in 1959, when he joined the Club Management Committee.

Derek served as Treasurer for the club before being given the role of Secretary in 1970.

He held that position for 13 years.

During that time, he was also involved in arranging the Whites 1st round FA Cup game against Millwall to by played at The Dell in Southampton back in the 1979/80 season, and joined the Southern League Management Committee from 1978.

In their statement, Salisbury FC said: 

"The Club sends its sincere condolences to his wife Renee, a willing volunteer helper for many years alongside Derek."
